The NBA 2021 Finals moves to Milwaukee for Game 3, and everything is on the line for the hosts. As with any NBA final, we can expect a high octane clash, and our experts here at CaptainGambling have put together this betting tip and preview after extensive analysis.
The Phoenix Suns have been one of the best sides this postseason and have started the NBA 2021 Finals in a similar form by winning the first two matches of the series in Phoenix. However, the Bucks will be looking to cut the deficit in their first home game of the series.
Phoenix Suns kicked off the postseason as underdogs against the defending champions Lakers even though they finished 2nd in the West. However, despite going down 2-1 early in the series, the Suns won 3 on the trot to see off Lebron and co and clinch the series in Game 6. An impressive Nuggets side led by the MVP Jokic came next for the Suns. However, a rampant Chris Paul and Devin Booker helped the Suns dominate the Nuggets and sweep the series 4-0. They continued the good form into the Conference finals against the Clippers and were crowned champions of the West after a blowout win in Game 6.
Milwaukee Bucks had a +20 regular season and finished 3rd in the East to set up a postseason clash with an impressive Miami Heat. However, the Bucks made short work of the opposition, winning the series 4-0. Next came an epic clash against the Brooklyn Nets, resulting in one of the best postseason showdowns ever. The Nets literally came within inches of clinching the series but lost out to a resilient Bucks side after OT in game 7. Finally, in the Conference finals, the Bucks had to work hard to clinch the series in Game 6 against an excellent Hawks side led by Trae Young.
The two sides have already met four times this season, including the first two games in this series, and the Suns came out victorious on all four occasions. The first of the two regular-season games came in February, and the Suns won 125-124. They followed it up with another 1 point win (127-128) after an epic OT encounter in Milwaukee in April. However, the spread has been much more significant in the first two games of the final as the Suns scored 118 points each in both matches while the Bucks managed only 105 and 108 each.
These two sides have met eight times over the last three seasons, with the Suns winning in all five of their home games and twice in Milwaukee as well. The Suns average 109 points over the last 10 H2H meetings while the Bucks average 108 points.
Considering the recent form of either team coupled with the recent H2H results, we pick the Suns to go 3-0 up in the series.
The Bucks are playing their first home game of the final series and are naturally the bookies’ favorites to win. DraftKings Sportsbook offers a Moneyline of -177 for a home win and a +110 for them to win at half-time/full-time.
However, they have lost all four meetings between the sides this season, including once at home in the regular season. Additionally, the Suns were much more dominant throughout this postseason, while the Bucks had to dig deep in many matches, including a Game 7 that went to OT against the Nets.
Hence, a Suns win is worth a punt, especially given the excellent odds on offer, like the +145 on DraftKings for an away win. However, if you feel like taking an even bigger risk, consider the Suns to win at half-time/full-time with odds of +250. The fact that the Suns have first-halves in nine of their last ten matches makes this an exciting bet.
