Philadelphia Eagles (4-9-1) make the trip to Texas this weekend to take on the Dallas Cowboys (5-9). Despite both teams having pretty poor season records, they are both still in with a chance of making the play-offs. Dallas has won its last two games and the Cowboys look to be finding some form at just the right time of the season. The Eagles need to win to have any chance at all of making the post-season, so we should be in for an interesting game.
Dalton the man for Dallas
Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton has certainly delivered the goods for the Cowboys in recent times. During the Cowboys’ current two-game winning streak he has thrown four touchdown passes and zero interceptions. The Dallas defense has also been aggressively forcing turnovers with the Cowboys having a +7 turnover differential in their last two games. When these two teams met earlier in the season turnovers proved key to the Eagles winning the game. Carson Wentz threw two interceptions and fumbled twice that day. Rodney McLeod also pounced on a fumble to score a touchdown.
The Eagles head into this weekend’s game after a 33-26 defeat at Arizona Cardinals. Rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns but could not prevent the loss. He also ran for one touchdown and certainly performed well enough to start the game at Dallas. Since taking over from Carson Wentz in Week 13, Hurts has a completion rate of 53.49% for 714 yards, five touchdowns and one interception. He took six sacks against the Cardinals, though, and has fumbled four times, losing one of them. Stats like that should have the Cowboys defense licking their lips in anticipation.
Our Pick: Cowboys to win
Or tip for this game is to back the Cowboys to win. 888Sport is offering odds of +105 on the team from Texas taking the spoils and that looks a pretty good price to us. The Eagles have lost four of their last five games and we cannot see them winning against the Cowboys. It might be a close game, but it is the Cowboys we think who will prevail. Home advantage will give Dallas the edge they need to keep their play-off hopes on track.
Our pick: Dallas to win @ +105 with 888Sport
