The 2021 NBA season is entering its final stretch as Phoenix Suns, and Milwaukee Bucks lock horns in Game 5 at Phoenix. To assist everyone betting on NBA finals, the NBA experts here at CaptainGambling have put together this preview, including a betting tip.
The NBA 2021 Finals return to Phoenix for Game 5 after two legs in Milwaukee. Suns had won the first two matches of the series in Phoenix and will be aiming for a repeat of the results. Meanwhile, boosted by their splendid performances at home, the Bucks will be going all out and can gain a massive advantage with a win here.
Milwaukee Bucks were very close to going 3-1 down in Game 4 as the Suns were up by 6 points after the 3rd quarter. However, a late surge led by Middleton and Giannis saw Bucks outscoring Suns by 12 points in the 4th quarter and leveling the series. They had an outstanding regular season that saw them finish at 3rd in the East with a +20 win record. They continued their good form into the playoffs to defeat the Heat, Nets, and Hawks. However, to stand any chance of beating CP3 and co., the Bucks will need their supporting cast to step up and help out Giannis and Middleton, especially in the big moments.
Suns have been one of the best performing teams this season and finished 2nd in the West with a +30 record. They have also been in excellent form at home, with just one loss and four wins in the last five games and only nine losses and 27 wins in the regular season.
However, most bookies had them as underdogs in their playoff opener against the Lakers. Despite that, led by Chirs Paul and Devin Booker, the Suns blitzed their way through everyone in the West, producing Game 6 wins against both LA sides and a 4-0 sweep of the Nuggets.
The 2021 NBA Finals is also a clash of two icons of the game in CP3 and Giannis in the hunt for their first-ever NBA title. Both sides won their respective home games to level the series 2-2 after Game 4. They have also met twice in the regular season, with Suns winning on both occasions by a point after high-scoring games. Also, the last 10 H2H between the sides saw an average of 220 points, with both sides averaging 110 points each.
The last ten head-to-head meetings between the sides have seen the Suns winning all 5 of their home games and twice in Milwaukee as well. Also, three of the four games in this series saw 220+ points per game, with the last match being the lowest-scoring game of their H2H meetings since the 2017/18 NBA season.
Chris Paul’s Phoenix Suns are the clear favorites to win the match, especially given their splendid form at home. So, we pick the Suns to win the game with a lead of 4+ points.
Suns have been the better side so far in this series, as the Bucks saw clear daylight only in Game 3. They were untouchable in their home games, winning both games by a spread of 10+ points. Hence, the Moneyline on Suns at -175 odds is an excellent bet with decent odds. However, if you are looking for a market with more value, then the spread and half-time/full-time markets are undoubtedly worth a peek. Suns have led at half-time in 8 of their last ten matches, including three games in the Finals. Hence, Phoenix Suns to win at half-time/full time at -105 is an excellent market to bet on. The point spread market is even more lucrative, with Suns -4.5 having a +100 odds.
