LAFC
On the other side of the city, LAFC have also made a strong start to the season. In the side’s opener, LAFC hosted brand new MLS club Austin FC. With goals from Corey Baird and Jose Cifuentes, LAFC took all three points, which was vital considering they were unsure of what to expect from the new team. Following on, LAFC held Seattle Sounders to a 1-1 draw - the side that comfortably defeated LAFC’s cross-town rivals. A draw with Houston Dynamo in their latest game sees LAFC still undefeated after three games of the season, and will definitely be looking to extend the unbeaten run in their upcoming encounter.
Head to Head
When our soccer experts looked at the previous encounters between LA Galaxy & LAFC, there was a common theme identified - GOALS! In the last five games, there has been at least two goals at the end of 90 minutes, with the highest scoring involving eight - as LAFC beat their rivals 6-2. Therefore, it’s likely that the pattern will continue, especially for LA Galaxy - star-man Hernandez with five goals in three games. As the first derby of the season, expect both sides to be pushing forward and attacking their opponent.
