Welcome back to CaptainGambling, your home for the reliable news, reviews, and stats on a wide range of games worldwide.
Looking at the MLB, we have had impressive games since the start of the week; some teams managed to have a fantastic run of wins (e.g., the Rays), while others, such as the Cubs, have had an opposite experience. We've been looking at all these results and other stats to prepare the MLB tip for the week, which you'll find up next!
This week's analysis will focus on two great MLB teams, i.e., the Dodgers vs. the Mets, who will be facing on a three-match series that will end on Sunday, 15. This clash will go down at the City Field in Flushing, Queens.
Although the Dodgers suffered defeat at the hands of the Phillies in the last game of a three-day clash, it didn't significantly alter their position in the MLB. They remain at position four with a PCT of 0.6. They're at position three in the Nation League, just slightly behind the Giants and the Brewers. On the other hand, the Mets are at position 15 with a PCT of 0.518.
The Dodgers may have suffered defeat in the latest match against the Phillies. However, that tells a tiny part of the story about the kind of team they've been this season. In the last ten games, they've got an impressive record of seven wins.
Looking at the totals for the last ten games, they've averaged five "unders" (8.5) and five "overs." Seven of these games have come as wins, all by a margin of two or more runs. Only one (of the three losses) was by a margin of two runs.
After recording just one win in seven matches, the Mets seem to have regained some momentum after they thrashed the Washington Nationals 8 -7, 4 - 1, and 5 - 4 in a series that ended on Thursday. They have a relatively impressive record of 55 wins from 114 matches, and they'll be aiming to improve on that.
In their ten most recent fixtures, they've had four wins. Looking at the totals, only four of those matches resulted in "overs." Besides, eight of those matches ended in a win/loss by a margin of two or more runs.
Since June 2018, these teams have faced each other 13 times. Out of those, the Dodgers have been the dominant team, winning nine times. In addition, eight of the 13 games have been overs. Also, ten have ended in a win/loss with a margin of two or more runs.
Looking at every possible stat from these two teams, the Mets will go into this competition as the underdogs. Although the Mets won their last three games, let that not distract us from the consistency that the Dodgers have shown throughout the season and from previous H2H clashes with the Mets. The only thing that the Mets can bet on is that they have a home advantage.
There's no doubt that this will almost be a fierce clash. The Mets already have the confidence they gained from their recent wins, and they'll be aiming to keep that fire burning. However, looking at every other stat, the Dodgers are far much better. Therefore we'll tip the Dodgers to win. However, if you want to add a little more risk to your bet, you can add a +1.5 run line.
Several stats led us to tip the Dodgers to win by a -1.5 run line. Let's highlight a couple below:
That said, we looked around for an operator offering the best odds for this fixture and settled on BetMGM. It provides a Dodger's win odds of -155 and -1.5 (Run Spread) odds of +105.
