Game Day 12 coming up in what has been an exciting MLS season thus far - and it’s holiday weekend! For this year's 4th of July fixtures, the team here at CaptainGambling is on hand to bring you our very best MLS betting tips for our featured fixtures.
For today’s MLS soccer betting tip, we’re focussing on the biggest Western Conference clash as Colorado play host to undefeated Seattle Sounders. The rapids have two games in hand and will be looking to make ground on the visitors at the top of the table.
Despite suffering a road loss to Sporting Kansas in their last game, the Colorado Rapids are still sitting well inside the playoff places in 4th position in the MLS Western Conference. This is despite the fact that they have played two games less than the majority of teams so far in the 2021 MLS season. Their standout this season has been Colombian winner Michael Barrios, who has registered two goals and three assists in nine games. The rapids are still without their loan designated player Younes Namli through injury.
The Seattle Sounders held on for a 2-2 draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps last weekend to remain undefeated so far this MSL season. They are sitting pretty at the top of the Western Conference with 25 points. Their away form has been solid so far this campaign, having won three and drawn one of their road games. With the best defense in the Western Conference and the second best goal tally so far this season, things are looking good in Seattle.
Colorado have won their last two games against Seattle, however, there haven’t been many recent meetings, due to one of their games being canceled last season due to a Covid-19 outbreak in the Colorado squad. It’s therefore been more than two years since these teams last played each other in Seattle. Given that Colorado enjoy home advantage yet again, they should be confident of causing an upset on the 4th of July.
Below, you can find the results from the last five head-to-head fixtures as well as three statistical highlights. We’ve used these stats as part of our analysis in bringing you our experts' MLS betting tips for today.
Having analyzed the above information, we’re predicting an away win for Seattle on Sunday.
The Colorado Rapids may have won their last two games against Seattle, but the Sounders are looking like an unstoppable juggernaut this MLS season. They are undefeated on the road and their last away game was a victory over LA Galaxy, a team sitting above Colorado in the league and with a better overall squad - including three designated players.
Our betting tip is therefore to back a Seattle Sounders win at odds of +195 with William Hill.
