Seattle Seahawks make the long trip east to face Buffalo Bills on Sunday evening, with both teams having won six games so far this season. The bookies make the men from Washington State slight favorites for the game, in part due to the recent performances of quarterback Russell Wilson. Buffalo won last time out, but needed a last-second fumble to help them overcome the New England Patriots last time out. This game could come down to Seattle’s high-quality attack against the Bills’ lackluster defense. Read on to see where the best betting value can be found!
Two Powerful Offenses
Many of the pundits are predicting that this will be a high-scoring game, and we would tend to agree. Seahawks’ QB Russell Wilson is in sublime form right now, completing 73.9% of his passes on the road, and he is being backed up by his team’s running game too. But despite that strength in offense, Seattle is struggling to keep things tight in defense, giving up an average of 28.4 points per game. Interestingly, the Bills are also not enjoying a good season when it comes to keeping the opposition out of the endzone. Their average of conceding an average of just over 25 points a game is causing headaches for coach Sean McDermott.
In what is likely to be a high-scoring game, Bills QB Josh Allen will be key to his team’s chances. The question is whether he will be able to outshine his opposite number. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs will also need to be on good form if Buffalo are to score enough points to compensate for their leaky defense.
In some senses, this game might just come down to which defense plays worse on the day. Seattle have a slight edge when it comes to defending against rushing, though, and that might just be enough to ensure that they edge what should be a really entertaining game. Defense coaches on both teams might just be tearing their hair out by full-time, however.
Our Pick: Seattle to win by 7-12
Our tip for this game comes from Caesars, who are offering odds of +475 on the Seahawks winning by a margin of seven to 12 points. We strongly suspect that the Bills’ poorly performing defense will not be able to handle Russell Wilson. The Bills just do not look to be on the same level as the men from Washington State right now, and fans could be treated to a real show of offense play while the defenses on both sides take something of back seat.
