Our latest soccer betting tips are back! We’re here to bring you everything there is to know about selected games of the MLS season. As it stands, the majority of teams in the league have played four games in the league, and each conference is starting to take shape.
Atlanta Host Montreal in Eastern Conference Clash
At the weekend, Atlanta United will go toe-to-toe against CF Montreal, who sit just one place behind Atlanta in the conference - level on points, and one goal difference separating the two teams. A win in the upcoming encounter will see one of these two sides take a huge step towards the playoffs - but who will be victorious on Saturday night?
On the opening day of the season, Atlanta recorded a 0-0 stalemate away at Orlando City. It was a respectable result, especially as the first game of the season. The following weekend, in their first home matchup in the league, Atlanta were victorious, beating Chicago Fire FC 3-1 to claim their first win of the season. However, in the next two games, a defeat to New England Revolution and a 1-1 draw with Inter Miami - both on the road - means that Atlanta find themselves in a mid-table position. As well as the league, it was an abrupt end to Atlanta’s CONCACAF Champions League campaign, who were knocked out at the quarter-final stages by Philadelphia Union. Now, all eyes are on the league for Atlanta.
In a all-Canadian opening fixture, Montreal put in an impressive performance, scoring four past rivals Toronto and claiming all three points in a 4-2 victory. However, since then, Montreal have yet to win a second game of the season, with back-to-back draws with Nashville SC and Columbus Crew following the opening weekend. In their latest fixture, Montreal travelled to Vancouver to play the Whitecaps, but were defeated 2-0 on the road. Forward Mason Toye had a good start to his campaign, netting in the first two games of the league. However, since, both him and Montreal have failed to find the back of the net. With a midweek contest against Inter Miami before the weekend’s tie with Atlanta, Montreal will be hoping for much more from their attackers.
Head to Head
In the last five games between the two sides, it’s safe to say that it has been a very one-sided affair. The five previous head to head results have the same outcome - an Atlanta United victory. It will both fill Atlanta with confidence and increase Montreal’s nerves, with one team victorious in recent times. Atlanta will fancy their chances of extending this run of form against their opponents, especially as they play at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday evening. Meanwhile, Montreal will want the streak to end, and will have to do everything they can to ensure that they don’t lose once again to Atlanta.
From all the information we’ve analysed, we predict that it will be Atlanta United that are victorious in the weekend fixture. However, with Montreal attempting to stop their opponents continuing their 100% record in the last five fixtures, we’re also predicting that both teams will be on the scoresheet.
Atlanta Take All Three Points to Maintain 100% Home Record
We’re predicting that Atlanta will come away with all three points in this one, and start to show their competition for a playoff place. Striker Josef Martinez has started to find his feet in terms of scoring, and combining that with the rest of Atlanta’s attacking options suggests that the home side will come out on top at the end of the 90 minutes. As Montreal will be fighting to end the terrible run of form against their opponents, it’s likely that they will also be looking to attack. This is why we’re predicting that both teams are likely to find the back of the net. With that said, we ultimately think that Atlanta will win the game.
With Unibet, you can place a bet on Atlanta United to win and both teams to score at odds of +210 - some favourable odds that you can take advantage of!
