Tampa Bay Buccaneers welcome the Atlanta Falcons to Florida this weekend, with the home side looking to end their 12-year post-season drought and seal up a place in the play-offs. The Falcons will want to end their season as positively as possible after a 2020 campaign in which they sacked their head coach. It is only two weeks since the teams last met in Atlanta, a game the Bucs won 31-27. Read on to see where we think that the best betting value for the game can be found!
Can Brady lead the Bucs to glory?
Tom Brady might be forgiven for allowing himself a chuckle at the expense of his former employers, after his performance on Sunday helped the Bucs to reach the play-offs for the first time since 2007. The former Patriot threw for 348 yards and four touchdowns in the 47-7 thrashing of Detroit Lions, while his ex-colleagues at New England have been eliminated from the post-season for the first time since 2008. Alongside Brady on Sunday was another former Patriot in the shape of tight end Rob Gronkowski, who produced two catches for 58 yards and two touchdowns against the Lions. Both players will doubtless love the chance to claim a Super Bowl title while their erstwhile coach Bill Belichick is forced to watch on.
One Buccaneer who has made history in 2020 is wide receiver Mike Evans, who has 13 touchdown catches and 960 yards receiving to his credit this season. On Sunday, he caught 10 passes on 12 targets for 181 yards and two touchdowns. Against Atlanta, Evans will have the opportunity to become the first player to exceed 1000 yards receiving in each of his first seven seasons in the NFL.
The Falcons head into this game on the back of four consecutive defeats. The last of those losses, though, was a 14-17 reverse to the might Kansas City Chiefs. The Falcons produced a decent display in defeat and came close to causing an upset. Atlanta has made close losses something of a specialty in 2020, though – a major reason why they are bottom of the NC South with a 4-11 record.
Our Pick: Bucs and under 50 points in the game
Our tip for this game comes from 888Sport, which is offering odds of +163 on Tampa Bay winning a game in which under 50 points are scored. The Falcons defense has been performing pretty well even in defeat in recent times and we think that this will be a low scoring match up. With Brady and his Bucs set for the play-offs, though, we expect Tampa Bay to win this game pretty easily as they look to build momentum for their post-season campaign. The Bucs will produce a business-like, efficient performance to see them home to victory.
