I can't even lie to you all. Anytime Rae Sremmurd's "No Flex Zone" and "No Type" come on any sound system that my ears can pick up, I'm hitting a jig, a dance and calling out "AYYYYYE" with no hesitation. Admittedly, as a man in his early 30's, I used to feel self-conscious about "turnin' up" (as the kids would say) to said music. But music's always been used to uplift the soul, and if singing the chorus to "No Type" makes me feel better, I'm with it.
On Friday, Rae Sremmurd was invited on as guests for ESPN's Highly Questionable with Dan Le Batard and Bomani Jones. The young adult rap duo from Tupelo, Mississippi came on the World Wide Leader and did the greatest thing they could ever do. They acted like themselves, and gave the world 7+ minutes of entertainment while Bo, Dan and Papi talked to some youngsters that were multiple decades their junior.
Shout out to Darius Slay, and one time to Papi for singing that "No Type" with the old man Cuban panache.
