NFL Thursday Night Football Will Look Very Different Thanks To Nike Color Rush Uniforms

Thursday Night Football hasn't been great programming to watch. From the fact that the matchups can be clunkers to the fact that the players playing in the game aren't fully recovered from sacrificing their bodies just 96 hours prior, the end product can sometimes look mediocre.

Nike is going to do its part to help the look the game by infusing some life into our Thursday evening festivities.

Per The Swoosh, the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets will debut red and Kelly green Color Rush uniforms, respectively, during their Week 10 matchup Nov. 12. The Color Rush uniforms will only be worn during Thursday Night Football games and will feature a team's current or historic primary color throughout the uniform from head to toe to create a bold new look for teams.

This uniform update from Nike serves as an anniversary of sorts, as 50 years prior in November 1965, pro football was presented in color to a nationally televised audience for the first time. Nike says that a full lineup will soon be available for all teams in 2016.

Six more teams will unveil their uniforms one week prior to their Thursday night matchups, including:

  • Nov. 19 (Week 11): Tennessee Titans (Titan Blue) at Jacksonville Jaguars (Bold Gold)
  • Nov. 26 (Week 12): Carolina Panthers (Panthers Blue) at Dallas Cowboys (White)
  • Dec. 17 (Week 15): Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Red) at St. Louis Rams (Yellow Gold)

Personally, I'm excited to see the bold looks from the teams, especially my Jaguars. At 2-6, I'm running out of motivation to watch that putrid football team play on a regular basis, but maybe the new uniforms will stop me from looking at 2016 NFL mock draft boards. Besides, Joey Bosa would look good in a Jaguars uniform ... right?
