The Underdog Fantasy Rivals contest puts two athletes head-to-head in a one-on-one stats battle. Your task is to establish which athlete is going to contribute towards a winning Pick ‘em entry.
As you’ll soon see, the Underdog Rivals rules are fairly straightforward. In short, you’ll need to select an athlete based on the likelihood of them outperforming their “rival” in a specific stat battle. This selection can then be added to between one and four additional selections, building a max payout of up to 20x.
If you’ve spent any amount of time working your way around the Underdog Fantasy betting app, then you’ll already be relatively familiar with Pick ‘Em entries. For those of you who are completely new, Underdog’s Pick ‘Em allows you to select between 2 and 5 players/athletes who you believe will reach a certain number of points across a specific statistical field. Alternatively, you can pick between two competing ‘rivals’. The idea is simple enough: should your predictions run true, you’ll win a set payout ranging from 3x to 20x. Your Pick’ Em selections are split into two categories. The first is a simple higher/lower entry, allowing you to select whether a certain player will hit higher or lower than a preset threshold. The second category is Rivals.
Instead of selecting whether one single athlete will reach a preset milestone throughout the course of a match, Rivals allows you to predict the highest-scoring player in a 1 v 1 matchup.
For example, you may find that you can choose between Joe Mixon and Trayveon Williams to see who will score the most rushing yards in Cincinnati’s upcoming fixture. In this instance, you will not be predicting the number of rushing yards gained; rather, who will gain the most rushing yards.
If you follow the Bengals or football in general, you’ll know that Joe Mixon is the number-one choice in this match-up. So, in order to level the playing field, you’ll find that a positive points amendment will be added.
Using the same example, you would expect to see a number of additional yards added to Trayveon Williams's scorecard, providing the athlete with a head start and requiring fewer yards to be deemed the winner of this Rivals match-up.
