Ignition Poker Review & Test US 2021
Is Ignition Poker Rigged or Legit & Legal?
An arm of Ignition Casino set up in 2016, Ignition Poker was originally an American exclusive website but has recently started catering to Australian customers as well. It’s a Bodog brand, meaning players on Ignition Poker play against those on other Bodog websites (e.g. Bodog and Bodog88) that operate in countries other than American and Australia.
As of its purchase of Bovada’s player assets, it’s the third-largest poker website in the world, boasting concurrent players of 2,500 at peak times. In addition to this, they go to great lengths to hide their player traffic, and one benefit to this is that it makes it much more difficult for sharks and highly experienced players to crowd the virtual tables.
This is one of the semi-unique features of Ignition Poker, and we’ll be diving into more of the things that make this operator notable later in this Ignition Poker review. We’ll be trying to answer the questions: is Ignition Poker legit and legal and is Ignition Poker rigged?
Ignition Poker: Pros & Cons
While this site isn’t available in Michigan yet, here are the bonuses they offer in New Jersey. When it does launch in Michigan they should be similar if not exactly the same.
Ignition Poker is currently running a first deposit bonus for first-timers to die for. They’ll match your deposit 100% up to $1,000 for the first time, and this even rises to 125% if you make your first deposit with Bitcoin (if you’re one of the only people in the world that actually understands and owns Bitcoin).
Believe it or not, there aren’t very many stipulations with this bonus either, except from one very big one. The bonus cash you’ll get (100% of your deposit) will be released in $5 increments for every 150 ignition miles earned in poker. Ignition miles are the site’s loyalty reward points, you’ll get them when you finish up a game or exit a cash table. So it’s a very shiny offer that’ll yield results when used properly, but will require a lot of gameplay. For a good alternative, check out our Twinspires offer code review.
They also offer Ignition Casino sign-up bonuses and deposit offers on their website. For more information, see our Ignition Poker bonuses review.
Of course they do! Ignition Poker has one of the most inclusive and legit betting apps on the market, accessible on devices from mobile phones (iOS and Android, tablets, desktop computers and even BlackBerry (if you’re one of the unlucky few still rocking it).
You can play anywhere, anytime, with an absolutely seamless mobile experience. Omaha, Hold’em and Zone Poker are all available, although mobile users can only play one game at a time and tournaments are not available. Despite this though, the mobile iteration of Ignition Poker uses every bit of the encryption software and random number generator security measures as the main site, so you know your account will always be protected.
For information on more online poker apps, see our Bovada review and our BetOnline review.
Here’s a rundown of the possible payment methods on Ignition Poker, including all eWallets and vouchers usable. Deposit methods can vary from one account to another, but the mainstays are open to everyone. These include:
- Credit/Debit Card: This is the safest way to transfer funds into your Ignition Poker real money account, it does state on the website however that deposits made with cards are not 100% guaranteed to go through, depending on the card issuer’s restrictions. Credit Card deposits are subject to a fee of no less than 5.9% depending on your provider, make sure to keep an eye on the amount displayed after you enter it into the box.
- Gift Card: Prepaid card redeemable on the website. Must clearly state it is good for international and online purchases, as domestic-use only cards will not work.
- Voucher Code: Prepaid voucher with a code redeemable on the website.Bitcoin/Bitcoin Cash: Exclusive method but completely free of additional fees on Ignition.
To check the deposit and withdrawal methods available in your region, click the profile icon available in the top right of your screen and then go to “deposit” and it will bring up a list of the available options. All payment options (except Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash) will likely be subject to a 3% international fee from the bank or card issuer, and a currency conversion fee of 5-10% could also be placed on international deposits.
You will also have to deal with activation fees on your gift cards, meaning there’s not much chance of avoiding these stacking charges. Ignition Casino is an international company, so even if you think you’re exempt from this hefty list of fees, you’re most likely mistaken.
As we said before, this site isn’t available yet in Michigan. We tested the New Jersey version of the site and this is what we found. In the name of convenience, Ignition Poker has many online FAQs that you can search through. These will contain any regularly asked questions, including known issues and troubleshooting tips; hopefully, you’ll be able to solve any issues yourself.
Failing that, you can visit their Contact Us page to directly request assistance. They have a phone number and an online form you can fill in, detailing your problem further. Of course, you’ll have to wait for them to get back to you, but it shouldn’t take too long as the customer support service runs 24/7.

Unlike a lot of online poker sites Ignition Poker has a great variety of customer service. This clearly comes from them also offering a regular online casino. So, you get all the perks of an online casino while playing poker. All of these customer service points worked excellently for us when we decided to try them out.
This site has yet to launch in Michigan. Here is what the VIP section is like in New Jersey: Ignition Poker offers Ignition Points as their VIP program. You earn them through betting money and their various promotional offers and then exchange Ignition Points for prizes. It’s not terribly exciting but poker sites are not known for their VIP programs except at the highest level, so we can forgive this.
