How Cluster Pay slots work

Slot games always used to rely on players matching up symbols across one or more paylines. Then a new Ways to Win mechanic came into being, in which symbols need to land on adjacent reels, starting from reel 1. But with Cluster Pays games, groups of matching symbols only need to be connected horizontally or vertically to qualify as a win. Sometimes even diagonal matches are allowed, as in Cash Compass. You’ll usually need to match up at least 5 symbols, but every game varies, so always check the paytable.
