Rush Street Interactive, the digital arm of Rush Street Gaming, has inked a new partnership deal that will see it expand its footprint to three additional online markets.
On Tuesday, the company announced that it had secured market access to the states of Maryland, Ohio, and Missouri through a second skin agreement with Penn National Gaming.
The terms of the contract will allow RSI to pursue online sports betting and iGaming permits in the three states and subsequently introduce its mobile sportsbook and internet casino offering to players in these jurisdictions, subject to state law, license availability, and approvals from regulators.
The agreement also allows Penn National to receive industry-standard payment from RSI upon the deployment of the skins. The services will be offered through Rush Street’s leading sports betting and iGaming brand, BetRivers.
In addition to facilitating the operator’s entry to the three states, the deal with Penn National also grants RSI the right of first offer for a potential skin in Texas when the state legalizes sports betting and iGaming.
The deal is valid for 20 years.
Commenting on the new partnership agreement with Penn National, RSI President Richard Schwartz said that the addition of Maryland, Ohio, and Missouri to its list of potential markets builds on the operator’s success in the neighboring states and that entering these markets would help in creating marketing efficiencies for the BetRivers brand.
He further said that the company would continue to further its expansion to more regulated states by entering into new market access deals with commercial and tribal casino operators as opportunities arise.
‘’We are pleased to gain potential market access to three new states as we continue the execution of our strategy to gain access and bring our best-in-class online gaming offerings to key markets across the United States,’’ said Schwartz.
‘’The addition of Ohio, Maryland, and Missouri to our market access portfolio, specifically builds on RSI’s success in neighboring states and will create enhanced marketing efficiencies for our BetRivers.com brand. We continue to engage in productive dialogue with industry participants, such as tribal and commercial casinos and other stakeholders, to further our expansion into new states. We expect to continue entering into additional market access agreements in the future, as other opportunities arise.’’
Rush Street Interactive currently operates mobile sportsbooks under the BetRivers brand in 11 US states including Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. In addition to these markets, the operator is also licensed to offer online sports betting in New Jersey and Connecticut under the PlaySugarHouse.com brand.
Besides mobile betting, RSI also offers internet casino gaming to players in New Jersey, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. The company also operates social gaming sites that are accessible to players across the country.
Outside of the United States, Rush Street is licensed to offer real-money online sports betting in Ontario, Canada, and Colombia.
