Smyly (7-3) vs Walker (7-4)
Smyly has been solid but a little underwhelming as he typically only goes 5 innings per start. Walker meanwhile was lit up his last two starts and hasn’t pitched beyond 5 innings in over a month. Freeman, Riley, and Albies continue to be hot for the Braves while Alonso is still on his homerun tear since the Homerun Derby.
Pick: Braves W, over

Scherzer (7-4) vs Velasquez (3-5)
The Nationals are looking like major sellers before the upcoming trade deadline, and Max Scherzer is the most sought-after trade target right now.. Juan Soto continues his tear and take a look at Josh Bell who has great history against Velasquez. Take the Nationals here in what could be a low scoring game
Pick: Nationals Win
--
Cole (10-5) vs Patino (1-2)
It’s too much to trust rookie Patino in this one going up against former Cy Young Winner Garrit Cole. Look at using Torres and Allen for the Yankees who are low budget but have been hitting well of late. The only players to consider for the Rays are Yandy Diaz and Joey Wendle as they have had some success against Cole.
Pick: Yankees -1.5

Rodon (8-4) vs Hernandez (1-1)
Carlos Rodon likes pitching in Kansas City, and his last outing of 6 innings with 0 runs and 8 K’s is worth a look at using again for your starting pitcher, even though the Royals are playing good baseball and hitting the ball well right now.. For the White Sox, Eloy Jimenez is back from his long IL stay and definitely worth a look.
Pick: White Sox -1.5

Castillo (4-10) vs Mills (4-3)
The Cubs are obvious trade deadline sellers while the Reds look to be buyers. Joey Votto for the Reds has been on fire lately hitting yet another homerun, making it 5 in his last 4 games. Could be a low scoring game.
Pick: Reds -1.5, under

Price (4-0) vs Cueto (6-5)
Another big matchup out west in a series that has been all low scoring so far but being that this pitching matchup is the lowest of the series, we might actually see some runs here. Max Muncy, Cody Bellinger, and Justin Turner all have great career numbers against Cueto. For the Giants, Thairo Estrada is a great low budget option as he’s been consistent and great vs lefties.
Pick: Over

Peralta (7-2) vs Kuhl (3-5)
Peralta has just been too good to go against with his low ERA and high K rate while Kuhl for the Pirates has been more of a hit and miss option where he has a good start then bad start regularly. I like Tyrone Taylor in this one for the Brewers as a great low-cost option and take the Brewers for an easy win again.
Pick: Brewers -1.5

Wells (1-0) vs Mize (5-5)
Really tough to choose either way on this one as both pitchers won’t go beyond 4 innings, 5 max if they are pitching outstanding. With what could be a high scoring game, you could sneak some of the hitters for these two teams into your lineup at a low cost like Eric Haase who has homered in back to back games
Pick: Over

Ryu (9-5) vs Rodriguez (7-5)
Ryu pitches very well against the Red Sox but hasn’t faced his former teammate Kike Hernandez yet since he’s been in Boston. As for the Blue Jays, they have had success against Rodriguez and have several players on offense worth using in this one, especially Teoscar Hernandez who has crushed Rodriguez in his career.
Pick: Under

Montas (8-8) vs TBD
Frankie Montas has been pitching well of late and with the recent trade acquisition of Starling Marte, I think it gives the A’s a boost, along with their big win the night before. However, Ohtani can change the entire game, especially with his career .500 average against Montas. Still, take the A’s on the road.
Pick: A’s Win
Daily Fantasy picks:

Freeland (1-5) vs Musgrove (6-7)
The Rockies are historically bad on the road while Musgrove has been great at home. Although Freeland has been pitching very well the last month with a 2.17 era, the Padres won’t lose back to back games vs visiting lefties. Trevor Story could be traded by the start of this game too.
Pick: Padres -1.5
