We head into the final ten games of the MLB season with some teams on fire down the stretch. The Cardinals have won 11 straight and look like a lock to win the NL Wild Card and the Red Sox and Blue Jays lineups have been putting up a ton of offense as well.
TBD vs Plesec (10-6)
The White Sox have locked up the division and may be giving starters some rest down the stretch. I like the Indians at home with Plesac on the mound.
Pick: Indians Win
Wainright (16-7) vs. Houser (9-6)
The Cardinals go for 12 straight as they get closer to securing the 2nd wild card spot in the NL.
I like the Cardinals to win again as the Brewers rest up for the postseason.
Pick: Cardinals Win
Scherzer (15-4) vs. Freeland (6-8)
I do not want to go against Scherzer, who has been lights out since being traded to the Dodgers.
Pick: Dodgers Win
Kikuchi (7-9) vs. Bassitt (12-4)
The Athletics and Mariners are slipping out of the playoff picture and need a winning streak for any hopes at a shot at the AL wild card. I like the A’s with Bassitt returning on the mound.
Pick: Athletics Win
Morton (13-6) vs. Bumgarner (7-10)
The Braves need to keep winning to keep the Phillies off their heels and should finish with a sweep vs. the Dbacks on the road.
Pick: Dbacks Win
Webb (10-3) vs. Darvish (8-10)
We could have a low scoring game with Webb and Darvish on the mound, and I like the Giants to figure a way once again to manufacture runs to make the difference.
Pick: Giants Win
Corbin (8-15) vs. Castillo (8-15)
I like the Reds offense to put up big numbers against Corbin in this matchup.
Pick: Reds
Otto (0-2) vs. Lowther (0-2)
This game should produce plenty of runs with both pitchers having over 9.00 ERA’s, and I like the Orioles to get the Win at home.
Pick: Orioles
Overton (0-0) vs. Nola (8-8)
The Phillies are a couple games back of the Cardinals in the NL wild card race and they should get the win with Nola on the mound.
Pick: Phillies Win
Matz (13-7) vs. Pineda (7-8)
The Blue Jays dropped to a half game back in the AL wild card chase and should get back on track against the Twins.
Pick: Blue Jays Win
McCullers (12-4) vs. Cobb (8-3)
The Angels will miss the playoffs but have one of the best lineups in baseball and I like them to put up some runs at home against McCullers.
Pick: Astros Win
