MLB Fanduel and Picks ATS For 8/9

A new week begins with a shortlist of games on Monday. Not a single matchup has inter-division standings at stake or rivalry-type games. There are three aces pitching on the road today worth watching, Luis Castillo for the Reds, Freddy Peralta for the Brewers, and Jameson Taillon for the Yankees.

Castillo (6-10) vs Hentges (1-4)

Luis Castillo has been one of the NL’s best pitchers the last month. Cleveland is using this as an opener/bullpen game, so I’d lean towards the hot hand with Castillo and the Reds.

Both teams are coming off series losses with each losing 3 of 4. The Brewers come in with the much better starter and lineup, so they should bounce back into the win column before the Cubs do.

Lucas Giolito had 4 straight good outings prior to the last one where he was hit hard for 5 runs. This is an opener/bullpen game for the Twins. Both teams are feeling good, the White Sox just won 3 straight against their cross-town rival Cubs while the Twins earned a series split against the AL-best Astro’s.

The Marlins bullpen has to be exhausted after their long series in Colorado so the Padres should jump on Thompson early and get to the bullpen.
