MLB DFS Picks for 8/7 and Picks ATS

Saturday’s MLB games should see a good amount of offense as we get a majority of games without top-tier starting pitchers. The best games on the board could be the double-header in Toronto between division foes, Boston Red Sox, and Toronto Blue Jays.

Seattle Mariners @New York Yankees 1:05 PM ET

Flexen (10-5) vs Heaney (6-8)

The Mariners face a familiar face when they take on Andrew Heaney and the Yankees.  Heaney looking for a better outing after his first in pinstripes chased him out early. I like the Mariners in this one with the potential for a lot of runs.

Pick: Mariners Win, Over

Daily Fantasy picks:

Mitch Haniger (OF)

Ty France (2B)

Anthony Rizzo (1B)

Joey Gallo (OF)

Chicago White Sox @ Chicago Cubs 2:20 PM ET

Rodon (8-5) vs Alzolay (4-11)

Carlos Rodon leads the White Sox in the second game of this cross-town rivalry series. Rodon and the White Sox offense are simply too much for the Cubs. White Sox cruise.

Pick: White Sox -1.5

Daily Fantasy picks:

Tim Anderson (SS)

Jose Abreu (1B)

Andrew Vaughn (1B/OF)

Wilson Contreras (C)

Boston Red Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays 3:07 PM ET (Game 1)

Pivetta (8-5) vs Ray (9-5)

It’s really difficult to back Nick Pivetta right now since he hasn’t pitched more than 5 innings in over a month with a 6.75 ERA in that span. With Boston falling while the Blue Jays surging, take the Blue Jays at home in the first game of the double header.

Pick: Blue Jays -1.5

Daily Fantasy picks:

Xander Bogaerts (SS)

JD Martinez (UTIL)

George Springer (OF)

Lourdes Gurriel Jr (OF)

Boston Red Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays 7:07 PM ET (Game 2)

Houck (0-2) vs Berrios (8-5)

Tanner Houck is still looking for his first MLB win, but don’t blame him. He’s been the Red Sox best starter when he’s pitched this year. Jose Berrios is pitching his second game for his new team. This game should be low-scoring, and I’m going to take the Red Sox to win this one and split the doubleheader.

Pick: Red Sox Win

Daily Fantasy picks:

Jarren Duran (OF)

Rafael Devers (3B)

Teoscar Hernandez (OF)

Randall Grichuk (OF)

Texas Rangers @ Oakland Athletics 4:07 PM ET

TBD vs Irvin (7-10)

The A’s should roll the Rangers in this one at home for the second straight game. Cole Irvin has dominated the Rangers so far this season.

Pick: A’s -1.5

Daily Fantasy picks:

Jonah Heim (C/1B)

Matt Olson (1B)

Ramon Laureano (OF)

New York Mets @ Philadelphia Phillies 4:15 PM ET

Megill (1-1) vs Saurez (5-3)

Two pitchers who don’t pitch deep into games but keeps runs off the board while on the mound. This one could go either way as it will come down to the bullpens. I’ll take the under.

Pick: Under

Daily Fantasy picks:

Jonathan Villar (2B)

Javy Baez (SS)

Bryce Harper (OF)

Rhys Hoskins (1B)

Tampa Bay Rays @ Baltimore Orioles 7:05 PM ET

McClanahan (5-4) vs Watkins (2-2)

Shane McClanahan has been solid over the last couple of months by not having a start where he’s allowed more than 3 runs. That combined with the Orioles struggles vs left-handers, I’ll take the Ray’s.

Pick: Rays -1.5

Daily Fantasy picks:

Austin Meadows (OF)

Ji-Man Choi (1B)

Austin Hays (OF)

Ryan Mountcastle (1B/OF)

Detroit Tigers @ Cleveland Indians 7:10 PM ET

Alexander (1-1) vs Morgan (1-3)

I’m going to lean towards the home team Indians behind Eli Morgan who has quietly gone 4 straight starts with 3 runs or less allowed.

Pick: Indians Win

Daily Fantasy picks:

Eric Haase (C/OF)

Jonathan Schoop (2B)

Harold Ramirez (OF)

Frammil Reyes (OF)

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Cincinnati Reds 7:10 PM ET

Keller (3-5) vs Gutierrez (6-3)

Mitch Kellers 7+ ERA should be enough to take the Reds at home. Rookie Victor Gutierrez was great his last start and should build off that.

Pick: Reds -1.5

Daily Fantasy picks:

Gregory Polanco (OF)

Kyle Farmer (C/1B/2B)

Jonathan India (2B/3B)

Jesse Winker (OF)

Minnesota Twins @ Houston Astros 8:10 PM ET

Pineda (4-6) vs Garcia (7-6)

The Astro’s should be able to get to Michael Pineda who struggles away from Minnesota. Yet Luis Garcia has really struggled his last two outings. I’ll lean to the Astro’s bullpen but taking the runs here.

Pick: Over

Daily Fantasy picks:

Jorge Polanco (SS)

Yordan Alvarez (UTIL)

Carlos Correa (SS)

Kyle Tucker (OF)

San Francisco Giants @ Milwaukee Brewers 8:10 PM ET

TBD vs Woodruff (7-6)

The Giants haven’t named their starter losing Anthony Desclafani to the IL. Take the Brewers at home behind Brandon Woodruff.

Pick: Brewers -1.5

Daily Fantasy picks:

Brandon Belt (1B)

Brandon Crawford (SS)

Willy Adames (SS)

Avisail Garcia (OF)

Kansas City Royals @ St Louis Cardinals 8:15 PM ET

Keller (7-10) vs Kim (6-6)

Both pitchers are looking to bounce back after each having a rough outing last start. Kim’s may be more an outlier after have a great stretch of starts prior to that.

Pick: Cardinals -1.5

Daily Fantasy picks:

Salvador Perez (C)

Harrison Bader (OF)

Dylan Carlson (OF)

Paul Goldschmidt (1B)

Washington Nationals @ Atlanta Braves 7:20 PM ET

Gray (0-0) vs Morton (10-4)

Charlie Morton at home with the Braves offense backing him against a rookie making his second start for his new team? Take the Braves and consider Morton in Daily Fantasy.

Pick: Braves -1.5

Daily Fantasy picks:

Ozzie Albies (2B)

Freddie Freeman (1B)

Charlie Morton (SP)

Jorge Soler (OF)

Miami Marlins @ Colorado Rockies 8:40 PM ET

Lazardo (3-4) vs Gomber (8-6)

I’m not ready to trust Jesus Lazardo, especially in Colorado with a new team. Austin Gomber was chased after just 1 inning in his last start so he should be well rested for this one.

Pick: Rockies -1.5

Daily Fantasy picks:

Jesus Aguilar (1B)

Ryan McMahon (1B/2B)

Brendan Rodgers (2B)

Ramiel Tapia (OF)

Arizona D-Backs @ San Diego Padres 8:40 PM ET

Widener (1-1) vs Darvish (7-6)

There’s just no reason to pick one of baseball’s worst teams with the D-Backs in San Diego vs Yu Darvish. Padres should roll in this one and get Darvish back on track.

Pick: Padres -1.5

Daily Fantasy picks:

Ketel Marte (2B/OF)

Manny Machado (3B)

Adam Frazier (2B)

Tommy Pham (OF)

Los Angeles Angels @ Los Angeles Dodgers 10:10 PM ET

Barria (2-0) vs Urias (13-3)

The second game of the Freeway Series at Dodger stadium should go well for the home team behind Julio Urias. Jose Barria has won his last two starts but that should come to a hault against this extremely tough Dodgers lineup.

Pick: Dodgers -1.5

Daily Fantasy picks:

David Fletcher (2B/OF)

Max Stassi (C)

Cody Bellinger (OF)

Justin Turner (3B)
