Below are the picks for today:
Cleveland Indians @ Toronto Blue Jays 7:07 PM ET
Plesac (6-3) vs Ryu (10-5)
Two good starting pitchers square off in a game where neither knows the other's lineup too well. That said, the Blue Jays simply have the far superior lineup. Ryu should carve up the Indians.
Pick: Blue Jays W
Daily Fantasy picks:
Frammil Reyes (OF)
Teoscar Hernadez (OF)
Marcus Semien (2B/SS)
Philadelphia Phillies @ Washington Nationals 7:05 PM ET
Wheeler (8-6) vs Corbin (6-9)
Zach Wheeler is 0-3 so far this year against the Washington Nationals, albeit, a much different Nationals lineup. On the other side, Patrick Corbin is having himself a rough season. There should be plenty of runs in this one.
Pick: Over
Daily Fantasy picks:
Didi Gregorius (SS)
Odubel Herrera (OF)
Rhys Hoskins (1B)
Josh Bell (1B)
Victor Robles (OF)
Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees 7:05 PM ET
Wells (1-1) vs TBD
Take the Yankees power hitting righties against lefty Alexander Wells. After losing last night to the Orioles, the Yankees should get them back today.
Pick: Yankees -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Ryan Mountcastle (3B)
Cedric Mullins (OF)
Gary Sanchez (OF)
Gleyber Torres (2B/SS)
Gio Urshela (3B)
Boston Red Sox @ Detroit Tigers 7:10 PM ET
Richards (6-6) vs Peralta (3-2)
Two starting pitchers who give up a lot of runs. Don’t sleep on the Tigers, they can hit and can keep up with the Red Sox here. I expect a lot of runs with both pitchers being chased early.
Pick: Over
Daily Fantasy picks:
Alex Verdugo (OF)
Robbie Grossman (OF)
Eric Haase (C/OF)
Seattle Mariners @ Tampa Bay Rays 7:10 PM ET
Kikuchi (6-6) vs Patino (2-2)
Yusei Kikuchi is having a solid season and going against an electric rookie in Luis Patino, who was dominant last start throwing 6 shutout innings with 2 hits and 8 strikeouts against the Yankees. I think Patino builds off that and slightly outduels Kikuchi.
Pick: Rays Win, under
Daily Fantasy picks:
Ty France (2B)
Luis Torrens (C)
Nelson Cruz (UTIL)
Minnesota Twins @ Cincinnati Reds 7:10 PM ET
Maeda (4-4) vs Mahle (8-3)
Cincinnati is a tough place to pitch for Kenta Maeda. Tyler Mahle has been great at home and is backed by a much better lineup that includes the homerun surging Joey Votto. I’m taking the Reds to cruise in this one.
Pick: Reds -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Max Kepler (OF)
Tyler Naquin (OF)
Joey Votto (1B)
Jesse Winker (OF)
New York Mets @ Miami Marlins 7:10 PM ET
Walker (7-5) vs TBD
Even though the Mets have the much better lineup, Tijaun Walker is hard to trust after being lit up for 3 straight starts. This could be a “get right” game though, but I’m still going to take the underdog Marlins
Pick: Marlins Win
Daily Fantasy picks:
Miguel Rojas (SS)
Javy Baez (SS)
Brandon Drury (3B)
Los Angeles Angels @ Texas Rangers 8:05 PM ET
Suarez (4-4) vs Lyles (5-7)
Neither pitcher can be trusted here, but if I had to, I’d take Jordan Lyles at home. Lyles has actually recorded a Quality Start in 5 of his last 7 starts. However, he did give up 7 runs the last time her faced the Angels in Arlington. I’ll go with the over.
Pick: Over
Daily Fantasy picks:
David Fletcher (2B/OF)
Max Stassi (C)
Jack Mayfield (SS)
Adolis Garcia (OF)
Jonah Heim (C)
Kansas City Royals @ Chicago White Sox 8:10 PM ET
Bubic (3-4) vs Cease (7-6)
Kris Bubic has really pitched well for the Royals the last month. He faces a tough task here in Chicago and going against Dylan Cease who has dominated the Royals this season. I think this could be a sneaky good pitchers’ duel, taking the under.
Bubic (3-4) vs Cease (7-6)
Pick: Under
Daily Fantasy picks:
Hunter Dozier (1B/OF)
Salvador Perez (C)
Tim Anderson (SS)
Pittsburgh Pirates @ Milwaukee Brewers 8:10 PM ET
Kranick (1-2) vs Houser (7-5)
There’s no reason to take the Pirates here behind Max Kranick and his 10.64 era the last month. Adrian Houser has pitched solid in both starting and relief roles. Brewers should jump all over the Pirates.
Pick: Brewers -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Bryan Reynolds (2B)
Willy Adames (SS)
Kolten Wong (2B)
Atlanta Braves @ St Louis Cardinals 8:15 PM ET
Fried (7-7) vs Lester (3-5)
Max Fried is the better pitcher here and coming off a very strong outing. Jon Lester has been good his last two starts and solid in both starts against Atlanta this season. Tough one to choose but I like the Cardinals at home.
Pick: Cardinals Win
Daily Fantasy picks:
Ozzie Albies (2B)
Adam Duvall (OF)
Nolan Arenado (3B)
Harrison Bader (OF)
Dylan Carlson (OF)
Chicago Cubs @ Colorado Rockies 8:40 PM ET
Davies (6-7) vs Freeland (1-6)
Keeping this one simple, the Rockies are very good at home and the Cubs are very bad on the road. Both pitchers have been outstanding the last month. The Rockies will be excited to be back home after their long road trip and day off. Picking the Rockies.
Pick: Rockies -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Patrick Wisdom (1B)
Charlie Blackmon (OF)
Ramiel Tapia (OF)
San Diego Padres @ Oakland Athletics 9:40 PM ET
Snell (4-4) vs Sean Manaea (8-6)
The A’s behind Sean Manaea at home is a no brainer this season as he’s pitching like a Cy Young candidate, plus Blake Snell on the road is enough for me to pick the A’s here. He has a 8.02 ERA on the road and 5.44 ERA overall. Easy pick, A’s at home as they look to make a surge towards the Astros.
Pick: A’s -1.5
Jake Cronenworth (2B)
Mark Canha (OF)
Matt Chapman (3B)
Ramon Laureano (OF)
San Francisco Giants @ Arizona D-Backs 9:40 PM ET
Cueto (7-5) vs Bumgarner (5-6)
The Giants won the first game of this series in a high scoring back and forth battle into extra innings. This game should be lower scoring as these two veteran starting pitchers are familiar with their opponent and both pitching well. I like the under a lot and a little bit on the Giants, as they just keep winning.
Pick: Giants win, under
Daily Fantasy picks:
Asdrubal Cabrera (2B/SS)
Kris Bryant (3B/OF)
Thairo Estrada (2B/SS)
Houston Astros @ Los Angeles Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
McCullers (8-2) vs Buehler (11-1)
What a game and series this could be and a great pitching matchup to start things off. Buehler has been too good to pick against along with him being at home in what should be a wild crowd. Buehler loves the big game too. Pick the Dodgers.
Pick: Dodger’s win
Daily Fantasy picks:
Carlos Correa (SS)
Mookie Betts (OF)
Chris Taylor (2B/OF)
Justin Turner (3B)
Daily Fantasy Lineup:
P: Sean Manaea $10,000
C/1B: Rhys Hoskins $4,100
2B: Ozzie Albies $3,600
3B: Matt Chapman $3,100
SS: Tim Anderson $3,600
OF: Victor Robles $2,200
OF: Odubel Herrera $2,500
OF: Tyler Naquin $2,900
UTIL: Ryan Mountcastle $2,800
