A lot of Ace Starting Pitchers are on the board today and some exciting games include the NL West Battle in San Diego which always seems to have highly tense games. Then in the NL Central the Brewers and Reds battle again with two of their top pitchers going. Also, it will be fun to see how much Shohei Ohtani can dominate the 19 straight losses Orioles.
Daily Fantasy Lineup:
P: Josiah Gray $8000
C/1B: Paul Goldschmidt $3800
2B: Ketel Marte $4200
3B: Alex Bregman $3000
SS: Jack Mayfield $2400
OF: Frammil Reyes $3200
OF: Kris Bryant $3900
OF: Andrew Vaughn $2700
UTIL: Wander Franco $3700
Detroit Tigers @ St Louis Cardinals 1:15 PM ET
Skubal (8-11) vs Lester (4-6)
The Tigers took game one against the Cardinals Ace. Today they go against struggling Jon Lester. Tarik Skubal has 3 straight quality starts. Take the Tigers again.
Pick: Tigers
Daily Fantasy picks:
Miguel Cabrera (1B)
Nolan Arenado (3B)
Paul Goldschmidt (1B)
Kansas City Royals @ Houston Astros 2:10 PM ET
Minor (8-11) vs McCullers (10-4)
The Astro’s got back in the win column and should make it two in a row behind their Ace Lance McCullers.
Pick: Astros -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Salvador Perez (C)
Jose Altuve (2B)
Carlos Correa (SS)
Colorado Rockies @ Chicago Cubs 2:20 PM ET
Marquez (11-9) vs Davies (6-10)
The Cubs took game one with a walk off homerun but it’s hard to pick this team to win two straight. Yet it’s also hard to pick the Rockies who are historically bad on the road. I like German Marquez to get take game two at Wrigley.
Pick: Rockies
Daily Fantasy picks:
Charlie Blackmon (OF)
Sam Hilliard (OF)
Patrick Wisdom (3B)
Colorado Rockies @ Chicago Cubs 6:30 PM ET
Gomber (9-7) vs Steele (2-2)
Game 2 of the Wednesday Double-Header, Justin Steele has been solid his last two starts while Austin Gomber has been hit and miss since his return from the IL. Gomber also struggles on the road.
Pick: Cubs
Daily Fantasy picks:
Trevor Story (SS)
Garret Hampson (2B)
Frank Schwindel (OF)
Los Angeles Angels @ Baltimore Orioles 7:05 PM ET
Ohtani (8-1) vs Ellis (1-0)
The Orioles losing streak is at 19 games and now they face Shohei Ohtani. There’s just no way this is the game they end their losing streak. Ohtani has 3 straight wins and 3 straight quality starts.
Pick: Angels -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Shohei Ohtani (SP)
Jack Mayfield (SS)
Anthony Santander (OF)
Arizona D-Backs @ Pittsburgh Pirates 7:05 PM ET
Gilbert (1-1) vs TBD
The Pirates have now won two straight over the D-Backs but face rookie Logan Gilbert who has been great in his first two starts. The D-backs bounce back and take game 3.
Pick: D-Backs
Daily Fantasy picks:
Ketel Marte (2B/OF)
Dalton Varsho (C)
Ke’Bryan Hayes (3B)
Tampa Bay Rays @ Philadelphia Phillies 7:05 PM ET
Yarbrough (7-4) vs Wheeler (10-8)
Tampa Bay has won 3 straight and 7 of 10 but today they face Ace Zack Wheeler. However, Wheeler has been rocked his last two starts. I’m taking the Rays again. Wander Franco looks to break a record for consecutive games reaching base safely for someone under 21 years old.
Pick: Rays
Daily Fantasy picks:
Brandon Lowe (2B/OF)
Wander Franco (SS/3B)
Bryce Harper (OF)
Chicago White Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays 7:07 PM ET
Giolito (9-9) vs Ray (9-5)
The White Sox won game two to even the series. Both starting pitchers have been on fire the second half, consistently throwing quality starts. I like the under in this one and lean to the Blue Jays to win.
Pick: Blue Jays
Daily Fantasy picks:
Eloy Jimenez (OF)
Andrew Vaughn (1B/OF)
Bo Bichette (SS)
Marcus Semien (2B)
San Francisco Giants @ New York Mets 7:10 PM ET
Cueto (7-6) vs Walker (7-8)
The Giants smoked the Mets in game one behind a starting pitcher they called up to make a spot start. Johnny Cueto hasn’t been great but will keep runs at a minimum. It’s just hard to pick against the Giants.
Pick: Giants
Daily Fantasy picks:
Kris Byrant (3B)
Brandon Belt (1B)
Pete Alonso (1B)
Texas Rangers @ Cleveland Indians 7:10 PM ET
Latz (0-0) vs Plesac (7-4)
Although Zack Plesac is struggling this season and especially the last month, the Rangers are using a rookie starter today who doesn’t have great minor league numbers. Take the Indians.
Pick: Indians
Daily Fantasy picks:
Nick Solak (2B)
Frammil Reyes (OF)
Minnesota Twins @ Boston Red Sox 7:10 PM ET
Ober (1-2) vs Pivetta (9-6)
Two mediocre and unpredictable starting pitchers square off at Fenway after a back-and-forth high scoring game yesterday. Today could very well be the same story.
Pick: Red Sox, over
Daily Fantasy picks:
Jorge Polanco (SS)
Josh Donaldson (3B)
Xander Bogaerts (SS)
Kike Hernandez (2B)
Washington Nationals @ Miami Marlins 7:10 PM ET
Gray (0-1) vs Cabrera (0-0)
This should be a fun game between two young and exciting pitchers. Josiah Gray has been outstanding since his trade to the Nationals but is still searching for his first win. The Marlins called up one of their top pitching prospects with Edward Cabrera.
Pick: Nationals
Daily Fantasy picks:
Josiah Gray (SP)
Carter Kieboom (3B)
Jesus Aguilar (1B)
Cincinnati Reds @ Milwaukee Brewers 8:10 PM ET
Castillo (7-12) vs Woodruff (7-7)
The Brewers came back and won to take game one of this exciting NL Central series. They also have the more consistent starting pitcher today who owns a 2.26 era at home while Luis Castillo tends to struggle on the road.
Pick: Brewers
Daily Fantasy picks:
Jonathan India (2B/3B)
Tyler Naquin (OF)
Brandon Woodruff (SP)
Kolten Wong (2B)
Los Angeles Dodgers @ San Diego Padres 10:10 PM ET
Buehler (13-2) vs Snell (6-5)
The Dodgers have their ace and leading Cy Young candidate taking on their rival Padres. Blake Snell was great his last outing but is still having a forgettable season while the Padres are in a tailspin, losers of 8 of 10.
Pick: Dodgers
Daily Fantasy picks:
Will Smith (C)
Trea Turner (2B)
Jake Cronenworth (2B)
