We head into the final two weeks of the MLB baseball season with the playoff picture becoming clearer after this past weekend. The Giants, Brewers, and Dodgers have locked up playoff spots in the NL while the White Sox, Astros, and Rays should do so this week. On the Daily Fantasy front, continue to look out for pitching mismatches between teams out of contention and also those that are looking to rest some starters heading into the playoffs.
Keep an eye out for some of the Yankees hitters, who will be under a ton of pressure to put up big numbers over the last couple of weeks with many jobs on the line in New York if they miss the playoffs.
Singer (4-10) vs. McKenzie (5-6)
The Indians have been playing well and Mckenzie is one of the best up and coming pitchers in baseball. I like the Indians in this one.
Pick: Indians
Peters (1-2) vs. Gutierrez (9-6)
The Reds need to sweep this series to keep up with the Cardinals in the NL Central wild card race. I like the Reds to put up some good offensive numbers today.
Pick: Reds
Rodon (12-5) vs. Manning (4-6)
The White Sox gear up for the AL playoffs with Rodon on the hill and should cruise to an easy win.
Pick: Tigers Win
Fredde (7-9) vs. Luzardo (5-8)
We should have plenty of runs today with both pitchers having over 5.00 ERA’s I like the Marlins at home to win.
Pick: Marlins
Means (5-7) vs. Suarez (6-4)
The Phillies are another team that needs a sweep to help catch up with the Braves in the NL East. Bryce Harper should have a huge day and the Phillies roll.
Pick: Phillies Win
Alexy (2-0) vs. Cortes (2-2)
The Yankees need to get hot over their last 12 games as the Red Sox and Blue Jays are up in the wild card standings by 2 games. I like the Yankees to put up some big numbers in the last couple of weeks.
Pick: Yankees Win
Ray (12-5) vs. Baz (0-0)
Cy Young favorite Ray faces the Rays one the road in a game that will have an impact on AL playoff standings. The Blue Jays need this one more than the Rays do so I will take the Jays.
Pick: Blue Jays
Woodford (2-3) vs. Peralta (9-4)
The Cardinals have come out of nowhere and look like they will get in the playoffs and be a team no one will want to face. I like the Cardinals to win here with the Brewers resting up for the playoffs down the stretch.
Pick: Cardinals
Valdez (10-5) vs. Barria (2-3)
This is a tough game to pick with the Astros locking up their playoff spot and probably looking to cruise through the last two weeks. I like the Angels to win this matchup at home.
Pick: Angels Win
Anderson (6-9) vs. Manea (10-9)
The Athletics desperately need a sweep here as they sit 2 games back in the AL wild-card chase. I like them to get the win with Manea on the hill.
Pick: Manea
Ynoa (4-5) vs. Mejia (0-1)
The Braves struggles in San Francisco and have the Phillies on their heels in the NL wild-card chase. I like the Braves to get hot over the last two weeks and lock up the NL east division.
Pick Braves
