Saturday’s MLB games has just one Ace with Walker Buehler but Max Fried and Jameson Taillon are both pitching like Aces the last couple of months, so both are worth a watch as well. However, the big story today is Chris Sales return in Boston and the Yankees vs White Sox after their incredible game in the Field of Dreams on Thursday.
P: Max Fried $8900
C/1B: Salvador Perez $3400
2B: Jorge Polanco $3600
3B: Jeimer Candelario $3200
SS: Didi Gregorious $2900
OF: Cody Bellinger $3600
OF: Tyler O’Neill $3000
OF: AJ Pollock $3100
UTIL: Matt Chapman $3300
Los Angeles Dodgers @ New York Mets 7:10 PM ET
Buehler (12-2) vs Walker (7-7)
The Dodgers took the first game in extra innings from a Will Smith homerun. The Mets struggled against Julio Urias and should struggle again against the Cy Young front runner Walker Buehler.
Pick: Dodgers -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Treat Turner (2B/SS)
Cody Bellinger (OF)
AJ Pollock (OF)
JD Davis (3B)
Cincinnati Reds @ Philadelphia Phillies 4:05 PM ET
Castillo (6-11) vs Moore (1-3)
Luis Castillo was rocked in his last outing after previously throwing 3 great outings. He’s too hit and miss to trust in Philly. However, Matt Moore is not one to keep the ball in the yard either. I lean towards the hot hitting Reds who have now won 7 of their last 10.
Pick: Red Win
Daily Fantasy picks:
Jonathan India (2B/3B)
Joey Votto (1B)
Alec Bohm (3B)
Bryce Harper (OF)
Atlanta Braves vs Washington Nationals 6:05 PM ET
Fried (9-7) vs Corbin (6-11)
This very same pitching matchup was each of these pitchers last start less than a week ago. Fried cruised, allowing just 1 run over 7 innings while Patrick Corbin allowed 5 runs in 5 innings. Fried has only allowed 3 total runs in his last 3 starts. This should be the same outcome today.
Pick: Braves -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Max Fried (SP)
Jorge Soler (OF)
Austin Riley (3B)
Victor Robles (OF)
Milwaukee Brewers @ Pittsburgh Pirates 2:30 PM ET
Anderson (4-5) vs Wilson (2-5)
The first game of the doubleheader, the Brewers are the much better team in this one obviously, but the pitching matchup is not great, so this game could go either way and should see a good number of runs.
Pick: Over
Daily Fantasy picks:
Willy Adames (SS)
Christian Yelich (OF)
Luis Urias (2B/3B)
Chris Moran (3B)
Milwaukee Brewers @ Pittsburgh Pirates 7:05 PM ET
Ashby (0-0) vs Keller (3-9)
The second game of the doubleheader, the Brewers will start left handed rookie Aaron Ashby, who has less than average numbers in Triple A. Mitch Keller for the Pirates also sports a +7 ERA, therefore this game should go well beyond the over.
Pick: Over
Daily Fantasy picks:
Willy Adames (SS)
Avisail Garcia (OF)
Luis Urias (2B/3B)
Chris Moran (3B)
Baltimore Orioles @ Boston Red Sox 4:10 PM ET
Lopez (3-12) vs Sale (0-0)
Chris Sale is making his 2021 debut after missing all of 2020 as well. He is a fan favorite in Boston and previously one of baseballs best left-handed pitchers. It’s an exciting day in Boston which I think will be boost to the Red Sox.
Pick: Red Sox -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Anthony Santander (OF)
Xander Bogaerts (SS)
Bobby Dalbec (3B)
JD Martinez (UTIL)
Cleveland Indians @ Detroit Tigers 6:10 PM ET
TBD vs Peralta (3-2)
The Indians won the first game, slowing down the Tigers recent stretch of wins. The Tigers have been too good lately, so they should bounce back in this one to even the series.
Pick: Tigers Win
Daily Fantasy picks:
Frammil Reyes (OF)
Miguel Cabrera (UTIL)
Robbie Grossman (OF)
Jeimer Candelario (3B)
Chicago Cubs @ Miami Marlins 6:10 PM ET
Davies (6-9) vs Thompson (2-5)
Both starting pitchers have struggled lately to get to 5 innings in their starts. After last nights high scoring game which saw 23 total runs, the same scenario could play out today as both bullpens are taxed and will most likely be relied on again today.
Pick: Marlins Win, Over
Daily Fantasy picks:
David Bote (2B)
Ian Happ (OF)
Jesus Aguilar (1B)
Lewis Brinson (OF)
Oakland Athletics @ Texas Rangers 8:05 PM ET
Kaprielian (6-4) vs Lyles (5-9)
The Rangers ended the A’s winning streak at 7, jumping on them early in the game with 3 runs in the first. The A’s should bounce back today to even the series.
Pick: A’s -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Jed Lowrie (2B)
Matt Olson (1B)
Matt Chapman (3B)
Adolis Garcia (OF)
St Louis Cardinals @ Kansas City Royals 7:10 PM ET
Lester (3-6) vs Keller (7-11)
The Cardinals won easily last night but it won’t be as easy today as Jon Lester has been crushed his last 3 starts. This could go either way, so stick with the scoring and the over.
Pick: Over
Daily Fantasy picks:
Harrison Bader (OF)
Nolan Arenado (3B)
Tyler O’Neill (OF)
Salvador Perez (C)
Tampa Bay Rays @ Minnesota Twins 7:10 PM ET
TBD vs Maeda (5-4)
The Ray’s took the first game easily, as expected, but today could go either way as Kenta Maeda pitches well at home and the Ray’s haven’t named their starter. I’ll take the underdog Twins at home.
Pick: Twins
Daily Fantasy picks:
Brandon Lowe (2B/OF)
Wander Franco (SS)
Nelson Cruz (UTIL)
Jorge Polanco (SS)
New York Yankees @ Chicago White Sox 7:10 PM ET
Taillon (7-4) vs Cease (9-6)
The teams head back to Chicago after the first game was in Iowa in the epic Field of Dreams game that saw an unbelievable 9th innings and walk off homerun by Tim Anderson to end the game in Hollywood fashion. Jameson Taillon has been on of baseballs best pitchers the last two months, so I think the Yankees win this one.
Pick: Yankees -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Aaron Judge (OF)
Joey Gallo (OF)
Tim Anderson (SS)
Yoan Moncada (3B)
Houston Astros @ Los Angeles Angels 9:07 PM ET
Garcia (8-6) vs Barria (2-0)
The Astro’s only needed Kyle Tuckers grand slam last night to win, and today should be another low scoring game as both pitchers are having solid second halves. Astro’s are the much better team and should win again.
Pick: Astro’s -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Jose Altuve (2B)
Kyle Tucker (OF)
Justin Upton (OF)
Jack Mayfield (SS)
San Diego Padres @ Arizona D-backs 8:10 PM ET
Musgrove (8-7) vs Gilbert (0-1)
The D-Backs won the first game with a walk off homerun in the bottom of the 9th. The Padres will get revenge behind Joe Musgrove.
Pick: Padres -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Trent Grisham (OF)
Manny Machado (3B)
Christian Walker (1B)
Ketel Marta (2B/OF)
Colorado Rockies vs San Francisco Giants 9:05 PM ET
Freeland (3-6) vs Long (1-1)
The Giants won easily last night, as predicted. The Rockies are so bad on the road and up against the hottest and best team in baseball. Even though the Giants starter is a spot starter, their offense is too good and knows Kyle Freeland well.
Pick: Giants -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
Connor Joe (1B/OF)
Sam Hilliard (OF)
Kris Bryant (OF)
Wilmer Flores (3B)
Toronto Blue Jays vs Seattle Mariners 10:10 PM ET
Ryu (11-5) vs (Kikuchi)
Two Lefty Korean Baseball stars square off in Seattle in what should be a great game and great pitching matchup with a lot of cameras watching. Both respect each other and mimic each other, so this should be a fun game. The Mariners took the first one in walk-off fashion but I think the Blue Jays even the series.
Pick: Blue Jays -1.5
Daily Fantasy picks:
George Springer (OF)
Marcus Semien (SS)
Mitch Haniger (OF)
Ty France (3B)
