Even before online gambling was fully legal in the USA, fantasy sports had a special place with the lawmakers and players were allowed to play them as they were deemed a game of skill. DraftKings has been one of the leading sports betting operators in the industry since its inception, with millions of customers around the US and abroad.
After years of offering a state of the art daily fantasy sports product, DraftKings have managed to enter a partnership with NFL itself, which is a complete game changer for the company. Statistics show that 90% of DraftKings customers have been involved with daily fantasy football, with other sports getting much less action, which makes this partnership even more important.
Daily fantasy sports have truly changed the way we look at sports. While sports used to only offer people a chance to spectate back in the day, daily fantasy now allows fans to actually be involved with the sports they are watching and have a vested interest in the performances of particular players and teams.
This change has reflected on football more than any other sport, as daily fantasy football has been massively popular around the US for many years. DraftKings has been one of the leading providers of daily fantasy competitions, allowing players to compete at all levels and win major prizes for their success.
With football now more approachable to the fans than ever and so many fans around the world learning a lot more about the game because of their fantasy competitions, the impact of DraftKings on sports as a whole cannot be undermined. This is exactly why NFL has now finally decided that it was time they made an actual partnership with the company.
The new deal has been greeted by both contracting sides as a very welcome one. DraftKings CEO Jason Robins announced that the partnership is a defining one that will change the industry forever. He added that the NFL and DraftKings appear to be sharing a common vision for the future of the League in regard to fan engagement, making the partnership a natural one.
NFL’s Chief Revenue Officer Renie Anderson stated in an interview that the NFL believes daily fantasy sports to be a great vehicle for fan engagement. He added that the partnership with DraftKings is one that they are thrilled with, since the company is a clear leader in the DFS industry in their eyes.
The partnership will give benefits to both sides as the two will collaborate on a number of content and other projects which will be used within the DraftKings app itself and at various NFL properties. It is important to note that this partnership does not in any way include any of the DraftKings sports betting products.
