We hate to say we told you so, but in fact, we did tell you so. The NBA players have arrived at Disney and they hate it. Which brings up the question – when will some of them escape and then bring COVID back to the complex itself?

Los Angeles Clippers forward Montrezl Harrell posted a picture of what looked like a rubber chicken.

"This ain't it," Harrell wrote on Thursday alongside a vomiting emoji. "Yea I'm bout to starve out here in Orlando."

NBA hates Disney

The meals, in general, have been described as “Worse than airplane food.” Which, you know, is not what you want to be serving multi-million dollar players when you expect them to stay locked up for months.

Memphis Grizzlies guard Tyus Jones posted images of cockroaches. The Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid showed his meal and said he was "definitely losing 50 lbs."

What are the NBA players doing in a bubble, anyway?

The players are required to stay isolated in their hotel rooms unless they are in the practice bubble or eventually playing an actual game. That won't happen for weeks. They are not allowed out of their hotel rooms for any reason.

That all sounds good, but when the food sucks and there are cockroaches everywhere, that's going to become pretty hard to enforce. Florida with nice restaurants and, more importantly, women are just outside their doors. How long will it take for at least one and probably more than one player to say “the heck with it” and just go out there?

And since Florida has one of the highest COVID rates in the nation one of them will probably catch it and bring it back to the bubble. And then everyone will get it.

Bottom line – don't count on the NBA really coming back this year. They are going to blow it.
