This guide explains what ranks there are and how you access them.
The CSGO ranking system features 18 different levels, with the less successful gamers being placed at the lowest levels while those with more wins rise to the top. Here are the ranks from lowest to highest:

You can only enter the CSGO ranking system by winning ten placement matches and you can only take part in two of these each day. After you’ve claimed 10 placement match wins, you’ll be put in one of the above ranking levels. Now you can play against players within five ranks lower or higher than yourself.
Your rank gets reset after each game and it’s worth noting that your rank will vanish if you don’t play any matches in a month. This means that it’s only by winning as part of a team that you’ll get a higher rank, so don’t go looking for any shortcuts as unfortunately, they just don't exist.
We’ve shown you that there are plenty of ranks to work through and Valve will probably be adjusting the mechanics of how the system works over time. This means that you should keep checking back here where you’ll get updates about how you can take your CSGO gaming to the next level.
