Here, the (-) tells us that Toronto are favorites, while the (+) tells us that Ottawa are underdogs. If you were to bet on the Argonauts in this case, they would need to win by at least eight points for your bet to win and payout. On the other hand, if you were to bet on the Tiger-Cats, your bet would payout so long as they stay within seven points of the Argonauts.
If you want to bet on CFL in Ontario without actually picking a direct outcome of the game, the totals, or over/under line is the most common way to do so. With the over/under line, you are presented with a total number of combined points for both teams to score. Instead of picking a game winner, you can either bet on the number of total points being either less than or more than the proposed amount.
For example, if the total line is 48.5 and you bet the under, there would need to be 48 or less combined total points scored in the game from both teams in order for you to win. If you bet thee over, there would need to be 49 or more points for you to win.
