Usability, Look & Feel - A streamlined sites found in our DraftStars ratings

DraftStars have created a streamlined website interface that is easy to use and navigate. The homepage is mainly a dark gray background with a mixture of red and blue buttons. The words are easy to read on the backdrop as the writing is all in white on a dark background and in some areas black on a white background.

Apart from the aesthetics, you can easily check out all the upcoming fixtures and tournaments on the homepage as it is listed in front of you. Furthermore, you can find the login/register buttons in the top right-hand corner of the page with ease. The actual registration process is relatively straightforward and shouldn’t cause you any headaches. DraftStars makes it a whole lot easier for first time users of the draft style by giving you a detailed “how to play” feature on the left-hand side of the homepage. You can also keep up to date with the success of your teams and contests with some useful tabs on the site.

Overall, the DraftStars website is well laid out and easy to navigate. We believe that what really makes it worthwhile is that it caters to newer players as well. Fantasy sports betting is a fairly new addition to the world of online gambling in the grand scheme of things. So, it's nice to see that they are making an effort to educate potential new players on the site.

Payments - Is Draftstars secure?

Making deposits and withdrawals with any Australian online bookmaker will generally limit you to a handful of options. And while you can always play fantasy draft for free on the DraftStars website you may decide to take the plunge into a more high stakes version of the game. If you decide to do so, you will find that there are basically three different options for you to make your deposits and withdrawals.

Deposits

DraftStars Australia will allow players to make a deposit using a credit or debit card. Players can also make use of a bank transfer if they want with POLi. So, not heaps of deposit methods by any stretch of the imagination. But as we mentioned before this is fairly common for Australian bookmakers. There doesn't appear to be any minimum deposit amount for any of these deposit methods but you will need to stick to certain maximum limits. These maximum limits remain the same for whatever deposit method you use and limit you to $1,000 a day, $5,000 a week and up to $10,000 per month. As far as any transaction fees, we couldn’t find any information on the DraftStars Australia website so we would imagine that there aren’t any for you to worry about.

Withdrawals

Unfortunately, your options for making withdrawals on the site are limited even further as you can only make a withdrawal by using a bank transfer. If you want to make a withdrawal simply navigate to the “withdraw” option in your account menu and follow the simple steps. You will need to withdraw a minimum of $20 from your account. Again, there doesn't appear to be any transaction fees from the DraftStars Australia side anyway.

Customer Service - It’s email-only for DraftStars queries

Customer support is a crucial part of any successful online bookmaker. That is why our DraftStars reviews take a closer look at how you can get into contact with the technical support team on the bookmaker’s site. So, let's try and answer the question “is DraftStars reliable?”

You can navigate to the “contact us” link at the footer of the homepage. Upon following the link we found that DraftStars Australia makes an email form available to its players. Players can then compose an email with their queries or problems. DraftStars claim that they will generally respond to your message within 4-hours of it being sent. Provided that it was sent during business hours during the workweek. So, this means you can contact them between 7 am - 11 pm.

Why our DraftStars may reflect somewhat negatively when it comes to the customer support on the site is because of the omission of a live chat feature. There is no telephone number available either but we can definitely live with that. We would, however, like to see the introduction of a live chat feature in the further this is the most efficient way to deal with simple queries and issues that players may have. There is a detailed FAQs section on the site as well that should help you to clear up any of the more simple queries you might have had. Nevertheless, we hope they add a live chat feature at some point.

As far as answering the question “is DraftStars reliable?” we believe the answer is yes. From what we could gather, they generally respond quicker than the 4-hours they told you they would reply within. The support was friendly but professional which is exactly what you want to see from a bookmaker’s support staff. We answered the question “is Picklebet reliable?” in much the same way as we have here.

License & Security - Is DraftStars secure?

There are few things as important with any online bookmaker than the legitimacy of their gambling licenses and the overall security of their website as we proved when we answered the question “is Tab secure?”. Our DraftStars reviews make sure that we look before we leap so that you don’t have to. So, is DraftStars secure enough for you to enjoy some fantasy sports drafting with?

In order to answer that, we need to make sure that DraftStars are currently operating under a legitimate gambling license from a reputable gambling board. In this case, we found that DraftStars have acquired their gambling license from the Northern Territory Gaming Commission. This is already a good sign and makes us feel more confident about answering the question “is DraftStars secure?”

The safety of an online bookmaker needs more than just the license though. You also need some assurance about the safety of your sensitive data on the site. So, we combed through the DraftStars privacy policy to find that the operator protects your data by using top of the range encryption technology. This technology will help to keep your data out of the hands of any third-parties.

Rewards & Loyalty Program - No VIP scheme at the moment

As we mentioned earlier, there is no DraftStars welcome offer to speak of at the moment. Unfortunately, there are no promotions or a loyalty program to speak of either. This is pretty disappointing, we won’t lie to you and it definitely impacts our DraftStars ratings. However, the site does have some sizable prize pools for the winners on their site. So, perhaps they feel as though the incentive on the site is already prominent enough and that there is no real need for any promotions or rewards program.

Betting Markets - A huge range of markets for massive sporting events

As DraftStars Australia is nothing like your ordinary online sports betting site, it would follow that their betting markets and system of gambling is completely different as well. DraftStars do the utmost on the site to educate you on how to compete in their fantasy betting which makes the life of new players much easier. The whole premise of the idea is that you build your own teams with a wage cap and how well the players you have picked perform in real life will reflect on how well your team has done on the site. So, what sports and tournaments can you create teams for?

One of the biggest sports in Australia is undoubtedly cricket so it should come as no surprise that DraftStars Australia allows players to create teams for the Big Bash League, all test matches, ODIs and T20 internationals.

As far as American sports go on the site, you can create your draft teams for the NBA and the NFL respectively. Our DraftStars ratings will reflect positively here as many online sports betting lovers enjoy American sports as well. Not only can you build teams for the NFL and NBA but you can create your own fantasy soccer team for the EPL (English Premier League) as well.

DraftStars Australia offers several more sports and sporting events for players to create teams for but at the time of writing our DraftStars reviews, we found that there are many seasons that are not quite underway yet. Here is the list of sports you can create teams for at the moment on the DraftStars site:

  • NBA basketball
  • English Premier League soccer
  • T20, ODI and Test cricket
  • NFL American football
  • Horse racing
  • Golf

Odds - A unique system from DraftStars

As we mentioned before, DraftStars is not your typical sports betting website. This means to say that there are no fixed odds for you to bet on. Instead, you are creating a team and entering various different competitions that are available on the site. You will always find daily tournaments on the DraftStars website that have their own unique flavour in comparison to standard sports betting sites. With DraftStars Australia, you enter a tournament that will require you to pay an entry fee. This entry fee can be anything from $0,5 to $100. Although we found that the most common entry fee was around $15.

Once you have paid your entry fee you will then need to create your team within the limits of your salary cap. After you complete the creation of your team, you sit back and check to see how well they perform in their fixture. The prize pool for these contests can vary from anywhere between $5 and north of $35,000. It will depend on the fixture itself. There will generally be a condition attached to the contest which will state that you need to finish within a certain number of places. So, if a contest allows a total of 1000 players to pay the entry fee, you may need to finish in the top 200 to see a profit. With such an exciting game format and larger prize pools it's easy to see why DraftStars is one of the best betting websites in Australia.

Product Summary & Conclusion - Its positive DraftStars ratings from us!

Overall, our DraftStars ratings are positive not just because the format is exciting and the prize pools are big but also because the website is very easy to use. Building your team is not at all taxing and claiming your winnings is a breeze as well. Whether you agree with our DraftStars ratings will be up to you and your own experience with the bookmaker.

Overall Conclusion - The ideal betting site for major sporting events

And so we come to the end of our DraftStars reviews. There was a lot to take in when reviewing the operator’s site. We were very impressed with the site’s overall security and licensing which helped us to safely answer the question “is DraftStars reliable?” Aside from that, the actual fantasy sports draft on the site is an exciting addition to the world of online gambling. DraftStars have curated an excellent service that includes a great range of sporting competitions like the Big Bash League, the English Premier League and the NFL.

What we feel DraftStars could certainly improve is their incentives on the site. We would love to see the addition of a couple of promotions, they don’t even need to be extravagant. It just helps to add to the overall excitement of the experience. This really is a minor point though and all in all, we were very pleased with what we found on the site. If fantasy sports betting is not in your wheelhouse then we would recommend checking out some of our Swopstakes reviews.
