Probables: LAA: Jose Suarez (LHP) vs OAK: James Kaprielian (RHP)
Although these two inter-division rivals are very familiar with each other, the two starting pitchers have hardly faced the offense of either team. What should be a low scoring game due to A’s Starting Right Hand Pitcher James Kaprielian having a sparkling 1.38 ERA at home along with visiting Angels Starting Left Hand Pitcher Jose Suarez sporting a 1.80 ERA on the road. In one start this season against the Angels, Kaprielian tossed 5.2 innings with 2 earned runs and 9 strikeouts. With his great home ERA and high strikeout rate, Kaprielian is a low budget recommended Daily Fantasy Play. Although Suarez has a great ERA and road ERA, he has not pitched more than 5.1 innings in a single start this season and has only faced the Athletics twice this season in relief. On offense, some of hottest hitters in baseball are both in this game; David Fletcher (LAA) and Jed Lowrie (OAK). Fletcher is batting .524 (22 for 42) with 2 homeruns, 13 rbi over the last two weeks while Lowrie has been hot, batting.412 the last two weeks while mixing in some power with 3 homeruns and 9 rbi. Also consider using Catcher Max Stassi, who has been consistent with a .333 batting avg with 2 homeruns in his last 21 at bats.
Players to consider for Daily Fantasy:
Los Angeles:
David Fletcher (2B/3B/OF) $3,300
Max Stassi (C) $2800
Oakland:
James Kaprielian (SP) $8,400
Matt Olson (1B) $4,200
Jed Lowrie (2B) $3,300
Probables: KC: Mike Minor (LHP) vs MIL: Eric Lauer (LHP)
We have two opposites over the last month squaring off against each other in this lefty vs left pitching matchup. Mike Minor has had it rough lately, logging just one quality start with an 8.78 ERA the last month. Facing this Brewers lineup in Milwaukee is not a recommended play but suits well for the Brewers offense. Milwaukee’s starter, Eric Lauer, has been outstanding the last month with a 1.93 ERA and 3 Quality Starts, he could be a sneaky good pitcher to use if you are looking for a low budget starter. He has a high upside for a Win and Low ERA with Kansas City coming in with one of the leagues worst offenses in general, one of the worst vs left handers, and one of the worst on the road. If you feel the need to use someone on offense with Kansas City, the only player to consider is Salvador Perez as he is one of the best catchers this season for Power and Batting Average, no matter the matchup. On the Brewers side, find a way to get shortstop Willy Adames in your lineup! The guy is on fire, batting .362 with 8 homeruns, 22 rbi, and 23 runs scored in the last month and has yet to slow down since being traded to Milwaukee. Christian Yelich, who has had a very slow start, is also a player to watch has he’s 4 for his last 10 since the All-Star Break with a homerun, 3 runs, 3 rbi, and a stolen base.
Players to consider for Daily Fantasy:
Kansas City:
Salvador Perez (C) $3,600
Milwaukee:
Eric Lauer (SP) $7,400
Willy Adames (SS) $3,000
Christian Yelich (OF) $3,400
Miami Marlins @ Washington Nationals – 4:05 PM PT
The Nationals are loaded on offense, even with the loss of Kyle Schwarber. Although costly, always consider Washington Nationals SS Trea Turner, who has one of the best blends of speed and power in baseball. Another bat to always consider in your lineup is Washington Nationals OF Juan Soto, who is on an absolute tear right now hitting 5 homeruns in his last 4 games and 8 in the last 2 weeks. There might not be a better bat in baseball right now, and the combination of Turner and Soto is hard to stop. The pitching matchup is decent as both Trevor Rogers (MIA) and Paolo Espino (WAS) have low ERA’s, but neither of them are likely to pitch deep into the game, let alone 5+ innings. Someone to consider on offense for a very low cost is Alcides Escobar (WAS). Batting leadoff in front of Turner and Soto has had it’s benefits as he’s filled the void of Schwarber by batting .400 since the All-Star break with 5 runs scored in 4 games.
Players to consider for Daily Fantasy:
Waahington:
Trea Turner (SS) $4,100
Juan Soto (OF) $4,200
Alcides Escobar (2B) $2,400
Probables: PHI: Aaron Nola vs NYY: Domingo German
A lot of good options in this game, particularly on the offense side as both starting pitchers have really struggled lately. Aaron Nola is returning from the COVID-19 List but has a very high ERA of 8.35 the last month and only lasting 6 innings or more in just 2 of his last 7 starts. On the opposite side, Domingo German hasn’t been any better with a 7.94 era over the last month and not lasting more than just 4 innings in any of his last 5 starts. With two starting pitchers struggling and a game at Yankee Stadium, this game rings offense. Look for another good game from Gleyber Torres who has a Homerun in each of his last two games.
Players to consider for Daily Fantasy:
Phillies:
JT Realmuto (C 1B) $3,300
Bryce Harper (OF) $3,900
Andrew McCutchen (OF) $3,400
Yankees:
Giancarlo Stanton (OF) $3,500
Gary Sanchez (C) $3,100
Gleyber Torres (2B SS) $2,900
Probables: BOS: Garrett Richards vs TOR: Thomas Hatch
This game has the potential for a lot of offense. Red Sox pitcher Garrett Richards has really struggled this season and comes into this game with a 7.97 era the last month and hasn’t mixed in a quality start since June 1st. On the other side, it may be an opener/bullpen game as Toronto will start Thomas Hatch, who will be making his first start this season. As a relief pitcher, it’s hard to imagine Hatch going more than a few innings. For both teams, there’s a lot of star power in both lineups to choose from. So sticking with some under the radar players to consider, Boston has called up one their top prospects with Jarren Duran, who got a hit in his first major league at bat, and then had his first homerun in just his second game. Other players to look at for Boston that are under the radar are Kike Hernandez and Hunter Renfroe as both have the ability to hit it out of the park at any time. Within Toronto’s stacked lineup, you can find some bargains with Randall Grichuk, Cavan Biggio, and Lourdes Gurriel Jr.
Players to consider for Daily Fantasy:
Boston
Kike Hernandez (2B SS) $3,000
JD Martinez (DH) $4,000
Xander Bogaerts (SS) $4,000
Rafael Devers (3B) $3,700
Hunter Renfroe (OF) $3,300
Jarren Duran (OF) $2,200
Toronto:
Marcus Semien (2B SS) $4,100
Bo Bichette (SS) $3,600
Vlad Guerreri Jr (1B) $4,500
George Springer (OF) $3,700
Teoscar Hernandez (OF) $3,400
Cavan Biggio (1B, 2B, 3B, OF) $2,500
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (OF UTIL) $3,300
Probables: NYM: TBD vs CIN: Wade Miley
Wade Miley has been outstanding this season and is a good play, even at home, against the Mets. Miley comes in with a 2.60 ERA the last month and 2.80 ERA on the season. New York’s offense has been hot though, even after losing Francisco Lindor to the IL this week. JD Davis just returned from the IL and already has 2 homeruns and batting .375 in his 3 games since his return. He’s also been batting cleanup which helps when batting behind power hitting and Homerun Derby winning Pete Alonso, who now has gone deep in 3 of his last 6 games. Cincinnati has some good bats as well with leadoff man Jonathan India having a nice rookie season, along with Tyler Naquin having a breakout season.
Players to consider for Daily Fantasy:
New York:
JD Davis (3B OF) $3,200
Pete Alonso (1B) $3,800
Cincinnati:
Wade Miley (SP) $9,300
Jonathan India (2B 3B) $2,700
Tyler Naquin (OF) $2,700
Baltimore Orioles @ Tampa Bay Rays – 4:10 PM PT
Probables: BAL: John Means vs TB: Shane McClanahan
Baltimore Orioles Starting Pitcher John Means is returning from the IL and has been one of the better pitchers in baseball this season. However, he is not a recommended play in this one with it being his first start since June 5th. Tampa Bay will have Shane McClanahan start, who has been solid but has been more of an opener/bullpen starter for them. He typically goes 4 innings in his starts. Both teams have a decent number of bats on offense to choose from, particularly Cedric Mullins for Baltimore who has been one of baseballs best leadoff men this season.
Players to consider for Daily Fantasy:
Baltimore:
Cedric Mullins (OF) $3,700
Trey Mancini (1B OF) $3,200
Tampa Bay:
Wander Franco (SS) $2,600
Probables: TEX: Dane Dunning vs DET: Tarik Skubal
Neither starting pitcher is a recommended play in this one as both typically don’t go longer than 4 innings per game. This game does have potential for a lot of runs or it could be the opposite and just be ugly. Most of Texas’s offense has been cold lately but always has a chance for some power with Adolis Garcia and Joey Gallo. Meanwhile, Detroit has some hot bats right now with Akil Baddoo who is now flourishing in the leadoff spot and Jonathan Schoop who continues his resurgence with more homeruns and rbi’s this season, and Jeimer Candelario who is batting .364 the last week.
Players to consider for Daily Fantasy:
Texas:
Adolis Garcia (OF) $3,200
Joey Gallo (OF) $3,800
Detroit:
Akil Baddoo (OF) $2,900
Jonathan Schoop (1B 2B) $3,300
Jeimer Candelario (1B 3B) $2,600
Probables: SD: Yu Darvish vs ATL: Kyle Muller
Both teams have a lot of offense but with Atlanta Braves star centerfielder Ronald Acuna out for the season, it brings the rest of the offense down just a bit. They still have a number of great hitters, including recent trade acquisition Joc Pederson, who is very familiar with Yu Darvish. Freddie Freeman, Ozzie Albies, and Austin Riley are always names to consider as well. The Padres meanwhile are coming off an absolute offensive explosion over the weekend, with multiple double digit scoring games. Jake Cronenworth, who is coming off the cycle, has been one of baseballs best hitters over the last month and has the luxury of batting behind superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. Basically the top half of the Padres lineup can be used in almost any matchup.
Players to consider for Daily Fantasy:
San Diego:
Tommy Pham (OF) $3,200
Fernando Tatis Jr. (SS) $4,300
Jake Cronenworth (1B 2B) $3,500
Manny Machado (3B) $3,800
Wil Myers (OF) $2,900
Trent Grisham (OF) $3,500
Atlanta:
Joc Pederson (OF) $3,100
Ozzie Albies (2B) $3,700
Freddie Freeman (1B) $4,200
Austin Riley (2B) $3,100
