TopSport Review & AU Rating 2023

Is TopSport reliable to use and navigate? We immediately knew our TopSport ratings would be high in this section. We liked the cool blue tones on the white background, offering a clear view of events, races, and sports no matter which page we were on. Highlights appear on the left of the home page, just under the phone number for TopSport. The occasional splash of purple – particularly for the timings counting down to the next events starting – is welcome too.

To the right of that part of the page, we can see two tabs – one for racing and one for sports. Racing appears by default, with five tabs covering ‘next to jump’ (this one flashes to get our attention) and four days covering today and the three following that. It’s simple enough to check the latest odds and runners for each of the next three upcoming races. A similar system is used for sporting events, with logos for each sport making it easy for us to work out which sports and matches are taking place.

Clicking or selecting any event takes us into a page on TopSport Australia that reveals more information about runners, riders, players, or matches. If we see odds we’d like to bet on, we can simply click on them to add them to our bet slip. Our TopSport ratings are promising for this too, thanks to the immediate appearance of the betslip on the right of the screen. We can enter our stake and the potential return appears underneath it.

Finally, the site works well across a selection of devices and computers. There are clear logos for the Android and App Stores towards the foot of the site, which means there are apps available for Android and iOS devices if desired. Security is important here too, as we found when we asked is PointsBet secure?

Many websites have payment method logos displayed at the bottom of the site, and TopSport Australia takes this same tack. We spotted these options included there:

They supply further details on the rules page, so we went there too. This confirms that they welcome deposits made via credit and debit cards, along with direct deposit, transfer, and even cheques. All TopSport reviews should note that deposits made with credit or debit cards will mean that withdrawals go back to that same card. Furthermore, withdrawals are only available once deposits have been played through at least once. So, if we deposit $20, we will need to wager that amount before asking for a withdrawal if we won something.

When we arrived on the home page to write this part of our TopSport reviews section, we noticed the telephone symbol underneath the logo in the top left corner of the site. This confirms their number is 1800 TOPSPORT – an easy one to recall whenever needed. At the bottom of the site, a selection of menu links includes a ‘contact us’ option. Contact is a vital part of our reviews, including Palmerbet reviews.

We didn’t find a live chat facility unfortunately, but they’ve supplied us with every other way to get in touch. There are phone numbers (and fax numbers) for inside and outside Australia, along with email addresses for banking and general queries. Finally, there is a postal address if required.

We suspect phoning the team is going to be the fastest way to get an answer. We should mention, though, that the FAQ section answers a lot of queries and it could save the hassle of phoning to start with. Our TopSport ratings dip a little with the absence of live chat, but we cannot knock off more than a point or two in this area. We’ll end this section by revealing that our online research revealed largely positive feedback on the site from others, so this looks like a small niggle.

The site uses a GenerationWeb 270c interactive betting system. Upon closer inspection, we could see that this system is approved by the NSW Office of Liquor & Gaming, so members can be confident they are using a reputable website. Our promising TopSport ratings are supported by this information. We also discovered that they comply with all aspects of the Australian Bookmakers Association Code of Practice. We look at aspects like these in all our ratings, including Ladbrokes ratings.

The about page on the TopSport Australia website also includes other information that points to this being a reputable site. For example, they only admit those aged 18 and over. Furthermore, they suggest using software to prevent children in the household gaining access to the site (something like Net Nanny, for example). The same page confirms that the site is owned and run by Merlehan Bookmaking Pty Ltd, operating over the phone and online. TopSport Australia also uses approved software to record all calls made, protecting both the business and all those who use it. Transparency is key here.

Loyalty rewards get a mention inside the promos area at TopSport Australia. We can read more about this by going through to the rules at the bottom of the page. How high are our TopSport ratings for this program? We can confirm everyone who signs up to TopSport gets automatic membership of the Loyalty Rewards Program. Members can opt out online if they do not wish to participate. This simple approach is one we approve of, although it is only fair to mention that this is not the only operator does this. In fact, something similar contributed to the very high Neds ratings you will find in their review.

Each dollar deposited earns 10 points. Single and multi-bets and racing wagers also receive points, but only on dividends of $1.20 or over. Once inside our account, we could see a tab labeled Benefits. It’s in there that the current points total is seen. We’d need to go into this section to redeem any points. The maximum balance allowable at any time is two million. Something we haven’t seen mentioned in many TopSport reviews! While points can expire, this can only occur if we don’t use the site to make any wagers for six months or more.
